well you figure out how much more you( or another player) bet over the guy thats all in and multiply that by how many other players that are still in but not all in and thats your side pot
e.g.im all in for 1500 you raise my all in by 1000…thats 2500 total….you have 3 callers….so thats 4 players(including you) that are in other than my all in. so you raise me by 1000, 3 others call you so you multiply that 1000 by 4(number of players that arent all in) which is 4000 that is the side pot(which i cant win).

I don’t know — I recommend pokerroom.com. You can download the app or play directly from the site. I’ve never had problems w/ it locking up and b/c it used to be a real gambling site before the anti-online-gaming law went into effect, it’s relatively quick — assuming you don’t get stuck at a table w/ turds. When you know you have a good hand you bet small amounts at a time then at the end you bet big because you dont want them folding you want to milk out as much money from them as possible.

I was talking with a new co-worker and she told me that her boyfriend is a professional poker player. I've never heard that before. Everyone that I know who plays poker does it once a week or once a month for fun. I asked her if he plays every day and she said yes. He's 21 years old. I asked if he pays taxes on his winnings like employees do on wages and she said, "well, waitresses don't claim all their tips."

Can anyone give me an overview of a career as a professional poker player since I'm clueless? How do they find work? How much do they make? What are the possitives & negatives of such a career? Is it something someone can do their whole life?

Yes a poker player pay taxes, we find work online 24/7, in casinos 24/7, you must be able to manage your bankroll correctly. Play poker take a lot from you, hours and sometimes travel, if you're single ok, but I'm married and very lucky to have a wife who stand by my side and support my choice 100%.
Many players refuse to accept that poker is a difficult and complex game and it requires a lot from them!
You must do the hard work needed to win!

in the texas hold em app, it says at the top "** install these facebook apps and get 100 chips each!

can i install all those apps, get the chips for them, delete the app, and get to keep the chips?

yes u can - i've done it for most of the applications. but sometimes when u install the application it doesnt give you chips! so i have to uninstall and reinstall several times before it works.

I know there are 2,598,960 different 5 card poker hands but I don’t know how many would only contain a single suit.

There are 4 suits, and for each suit, 13 cards. You're choosing 5 of them, so 4(13C5) = 5148 hands.

You can also solve this by looking up the frequency of the types of hands in poker. What you want is the number of flushes plus straight flushes plus royal flushes.
